I know what you mean, the most controlable RC is a buggy.. Nicest to run with is a truck, so a truggy should be a nice combination of both.

I made a lightweight maxx, and thought it started to look more like a truggy.. Extended in the length, extended in the width.. Put a wing on it, truggy like tires...

Voila.. A truggymaxx..

So i really can imagine your urge of converting a lightning. They are nice and easy to do. Did you see the pictures?

you can use the 46T kyosho spurs on the HB diffs, (metal spurs are pinion killers) i don't know if they fit the centerdiffholder though.
