that looks nice. should be easy to balance the buggy with the motor in the middle like that.

It should be pretty close. The servo weighs around 2 oz, the speed control is 2.5 oz and the receiver is half an ounce. The A123 cells weigh 70g/cell or about 2.5 oz each. As long as I can find a simple way to mount all the electronic gear on the right side of the car the side to side weight balance should be almost 50/50.
