upon further inspection, one of the 3 rows of resistors under the heat sink was melting down. i should clarify that im stationed in germany by the army, i wish i spoke german well enough to call them directly. if time was not important than i could do it when i get back but it will be some time before i get back.
mike, you said to call them, so i assume they speak english? most germans do but not all. thanks for all your help guys.

About the english and Germans, you are right, most older German people don't know a word english.

@Coolhand you might be lucky.. Ryan who's first controller died pretty soon after installing him is running his 2nd 18.97 with great succes..

Ryans first did not turn out good. I see he still runs his second one to. I run it until then. I have noticed that if I crash some time it seems to knock the motor wires loose. I fried one of the cups out of the controller and soldered it back to the controller. I think warranty is out the question now any way. It saved me from hearing that it was a loose connection. Get me another esc I can put the 14 l on my other maxx. It is coming on along all the time. Getting ready to post a pic of it. Thanks alot serum for all that you have helped me with and probably help me with again.

Peace!
