Brushless set up for a new guy

To keep racing weight down, I'll probably start with just 12race matched cells (GP3700+). It's no problem to buy another motor when I make the switch to lipos.

So how many turns should I be looking at in an XL can? 8?

an 8xl would do or you could get a lehner 19 series but they are more expensive but are built better :cool:

What tooth pinion do you recommend for this set up 9920 and 8xl, I'll be using the stock slipper for now.. thanks Steve

i agree with the other guys about the novak hv. i have got one my self and have had nothing but trouble . thermal shut downs even when use the reconnend pion and spur gears from novak . had to go to 12pion and 72 spur to fix problem .but then you lose speed and get alot of torque . iam also looking at going to the 8xl and warrior .

never consider something like the HV and what tooth spur are you using

the number is the turn an 8xl would be faster than a 10xl and a 7xl would be faster than a 8xl
but with a 10xl you would get better runtime than with a 7,8,9xl
