Problem is a hardened steel idler and an aluminum gear wont last long and i bet the case flex issue is not because of case flex its probably those gears wearing wrong eating each other up.

I am testing that theory at present, but so far no issues with my alloy rc4wd gear and the hardend RCM idler; I do have the alloy rc4wd idlers just incase though, but no tranny flex so far and no nasty noises coming from the tranny...

Here my experience with aluminum against steel. In a t-maxx there is a steel idler for reverse the rides against plastic gears.when you install a bigger .21 size engine the first gears to break are the reverse gear and then the primary or foward gear. I got all 7075 gears inside for a bullet proof tranny. After about a 1/2 gallon of fuel I pulled it apart to grease the gears and check things out. I noticed the aluminum gear and the idler wearing the teeth out on each other. The guys who make the aftermarket ultramaxxed gears for electric and otb 1st and 2nd gears for nitro use a special brass alloy idler and input gear just because of ths reason ever wonder why there are 3 versions of the Ultramaxx gears . I know it will last a while but eventually it will show definate wear keep it grease and it will last even longer. I bet delrin would be alot stonger than then the stock plastic gear.Ue used it for the first foc conversion and it seemed to work good. Probably cheaper to produce and make.

Those delrin 3906 tranny gears are rarer than rocking horse poo these days...

So I assume somebody made them @ one time? I am pretty new with the emaxx and dont know the complete history of aftermarket parts for the tranny. Can you fill me in? I found a gear maker that can make any gears too your specs out of delrin, phenolic, aluminum ,steel, brass.stainless ,cast iron, hardsteel. Not sure on prices but I will check it out on monday to make a delrin or phenolic gear to replace the 2nd speed gear in the g-maxx tranny.

I believe it is/was traxxas themselves that offered the delrin gears as an aftermarket upgrade to the stock nylon ones. Since the 3906 is now a legacy model, those optional gears seem to have vanished from buytraxxas.com where they used to be available (unless Im going blind again).

I can understand the using delrin though, its a great material- self lubricating with use if Im correct? **rude joke potential at 100%**

I believe traxxas made some for the t-maxx foc kit also. I never heard of the ones for the emaxx tranny. I definatly will post up my findings.

Will the flm adaptor for using a 3905 tranny on a flm cassis work the same on a g-maxx chassis ? anyone? This could also be the fix also but we have been over looking it.

Yes, but...

http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11650

FLM discontinued the adaptor and simply brought out a 3905 specific chassis- you may be able to get an adaptor from Mike though as a custom order.

Same reason why GorillaMaxx brought out the G4 chassis, so people could use the stronger 3905 tranny in the better GorillaMaxx chassis (trouble is I prefer the G2/3 design myself).

After a mock up and inspection of these titanium gears I noticed some machining issues. The slots in the 2nd speed gear the pegs go into are not machined correctly. On the shaft the gears only line up in one spot I suppose I could dremal a little and make it work perfect but I dont want to mess with it. The seller said he would refund my money but if someone wants them and willing to do the work so thet will line up lmk and we can work somthing out. I assure you all the other gears are perfect fit its just those slots on the 2nd speed gear. The ue gear is not included obviosly.
