Scotch brite, as course as you can find so I'll scratch the aluminum, even if it's only a little.

Thats Primer, not paint and only a example. Find something with the same indrediants

Zinc Phospherous or Zinc Chromate

Sure, if the towers are perfectly flat with not cutouts then that would be best anyway.

600grit wet/dry paper should be plenty

hye, just used a new paint, anodized engine bay paint, best choice ever, wont be looking back at the other stuff again
