ya my thinking was the same as yours, my batteries will just pull down the performance of the brushless system..
And the motors can take it easily, so i think i will be going with the lipo

WOW Old school! I didn't think any still lived;) What are you running for motors?
I to would go with batteries in you're case, IB 3600 were a bit of a disappointment
