Actually this happens quite often. You can get THIS, which will solve your problem and help keep your motor cool. You can also JB Weld the endcaps back on.

One question though, do you have the 540c version or the smooth can version? If you have the 540c version then the heatsink clamp will not work and you have to JB Weld it back up.

I have the type of can where the heatsink is part of the can as I recall. I was thinking JB Weld might be the answer. Thanks
