the guy from maxamp said in the rcu that this twin vxl e maxx should be out in december. he also said that trx have connected the two esc so that they run synchron. it will be interesting to see how they have done that.
To clear things up a little...posted by Zinno, a traxxas employee, on the traxxas forum:
"Gentlemen, I'm not sure where these rumors have started, but there will not be a V-Twin E-Maxx in December.
The reason we brought the V-Twin Concept truck to the show was to guage interest and show hobbyists what could be possible. What we had said is that if there was overwhelming demand, we may take the truck into production. This should not be confused with us saying "The truck will be here in December" which seems to be thought on the forums.
What we are saying however, is that the new 3905 E-Maxx will be available in time for Christmas around the beginning of December, so keep your orders in place- there may not be many to go around."
Take it as you will, but I tend to believe a traxxas employee versus anyone's LHS salesguy.
I would guess a 550 size single motor setup where it's an RTR. Probably the equivalent of an 8XL. Hopefully they go with a 4s-capable controller; 3s and a 6XL equivalent would get kinda hot, 3s and a 9XL would be kinda slow...
More then likely. No matter what system they put in there. It will most likely get changed out for something different. People don't want to have the same thing as the next for want to be better.
Peace!

who HONESTLY needs an E-maxx that'll run over 40 mph??? a single 550 size brushless would be enough for 95% of people that would buy it.
The only time I go faster than that is in empty parking lots or grass fields. I prefer more off-roading, and in that case even 35 mph is very very fast and can cause wrecks easy. My truck is geared for low 40s now w/ tons of accel and its perfect for me.

its cool to run it up the road once or twice while bashing around but speed isnt everything id rather have a truck that topped out at 30 with flip over backwards instant power over a truck that can do 50 but lugs around in the lower rpms
Hmm, the speed vs bashing thing is a very valid point. That said, I am in the 5% catergory here- my 'bash' site is a large open park which is 99% flat, so speed is more useful to me & more exciting. If I had a nice bash site with lots of hills, ditches, small jumps etc, I would just stick with the Hv6.5 as thats plenty for that purpose. All depends on the intended use of the truck really....
Well I have a large area.
I can go fast without ever seeing asphalt.
I also have an area that is nice to climb hills.
Has a few jumps around. I don't use the hv.
I like the neu quark setup more. Longer battery life.
Peace!
