There are several guys here that run the MM with NEU motors on 4S & UBEC and have not reported heat issues. I think just changing the ESC is going to be an expensive solution if you plan on continuing to run 3S. I would invest in an extra cell before dropping $300 on a new ESC.
+1. That's my take too. If you plan to put your 1515 in something big eventually, getting an MGM might not be a bad idea. For this situation, the MM can be set up to work great. I use an MM/1515 1.5d/f in my MBX5T and it runs cool. Shouldn't be a problem at all in a Jato.
