that hole in the shaft was certainly one of my main concerns as well, but on the other hand; a combination of the perfect slipper setup on the micro-t, and the use of relative weak nylon pinion i think you might get away with it. I think you might want to use plastic driveshafts, to avoid any direct stress on the shaft.
