Definitely get an air compressor. It has saved me so many countless hours of cleaning. You won't regret buying one.

I blow the crap out of mine all the time. LOL

I've often wondered if there isn't some kind of aerosol cleaner that would work well with the plastic and aluminum?

I've thought about brake cleaner, but I'm sure that would degradate some stuff. It's a little too strong.
