I like your idea of leaving the drill battery in the case Lincpimp... although, I would use DeWalt 36v packs, either 2 or 4 packs (with a 10s setup), that way they stay nice and protected, you have built in balancing, and would look plain cool!

I mentioned in the other forum that I cost out a conversion for the SS at something like $3000, IIRC. I used all the best stuff, which you might want in something like this after all.

BTW, Fine-design only has two small lipo packs (he claims 30C....BS), which will most likely be over loaded and/or have little runtime.
