You are absolutely right on that one. It is hard enough dealing with warrenty issues when the company has to uphold the consumer laws in your own country, but when you have to deal with international laws it gets very tricky in deed

. In all actuallity it is near impossible to enforce anything across international borders. The only thing any of us may have in our favor is if the company is big enough to not want bad publicity dealing with the USA. Otherwise it is a crap shoot

.
I have been traveling around the world for many years now with the type of work that I do, and I use to think that customer service was bad in the USA. Now that I have seen what a lot of other countries are dealing with for customer service

the USA looks pretty good overall. We are spoiled with the civilized way that our elders have set things up for us. Good customer service outside of the USA is very rare and surprizing when I do see it. Germany was actually pretty good, in country for the most part. The UK (I was there 8 years) is level with the USA, but the rest of Europe has no idea of what customer service is. or why they should use it
One piece of advice I can give you is this. If you have an issue with a country that does not speak your language try to get someone to make the call for you that does speak their tounge. They will be much more receptive.
