You will not have any issues with motor braking. Just up the center diff fluid weight, if your rear tires unload too much on hard braking.

The mm should not have any issues with the 9l, I run the same combo in a very heavy tube frame buggy, and it is geared for 45mph. No heat issue, just traction (a lack of it!).

Make sure you have some airflow over the esc and motor and have a look at the heatsink of the mm. Some are not help on the the fets properly, I pulled one off and re-attached it with thermal epoxy on each fet (just a little). Should help with hot spots.
