I had the MM with a 55T brushed motor in my AX-10 and it worked like a champ. If you're going to be doing any competitions, most people around here (from what I've seen) prefer brushless for bashing and brushed for comps.

JRH's Crawlmasters are quite popular in the AX-10. Just PM him and he's very good about giving you great recommendations as he has tried just about everything it seems.

The Sidewinder works well in the crawler, but the drag brake isn't as strong for holding you on a descent. (It's 10% less due to the lesser electrical components per Joe Ford.)

I've actually taken both out for other vehicles and now I'm using the Novak Rooster Crawler edition. For my purposes, it works just as well. The only drawback is that it's limited to 2s lipo. Has a great built in BEC though!
