Yet another BL conversion question - 04.08.2008, 08:25 PM

Hi,
I've been reading these forums for about a month solid now looking at the various BL conversions of 1/10 scale trucks. I just sold my dino fuel Savage and have a new Revo 3.3 in the box that I have not opened and am contemplating returning/selling if there are those who would advice a cheaper/different route.

I was wondering if there are any well done guides on how to convert the Revo's over to BL. I've seen people posting there various progress threads but just wondered if there was anything comprehensive?

A little background. I currently have a couple different aircraft that I've converted to electric BL motors, a BL/Lipo helicopter so I'm not completely green when it comes to electric.

The last electric truck I had was a Kyosho Double Dare back in the early 90's so things have changed a little. I've still got the thing laying around in the vault.

I used my Savage, mainly for bashing and going down to the track. I'm in a rural area in New England so we've got a lot of terrain in my back yard.

Thanks in advanced and I can't wait to get one of these things running!

The Revo is probably the easiest conversion because you can buy all the conversion parts. You can either go with the Tekno conversion kit which includes everything needed except electronics, or you can go the RC-Monster route where you can buy the motor mount and battery tray from the RC-Monster store. Another route you can take (what I did) was peice together parts from each company. After you have the essential parts for the conversion (motor mount, battery tray, mounts for ESC/receiver or any other electronics), all you need are to buy the actual electronics.

I currently have a Common Sense charger I use for my plane LiPo's. Has anyone used this charger on the 4S lipos in a truck?
