You definently need to go with just one servo. I had to switch to the single servo thingy from proline after the dual traxxas servos killed
 each other.(1 pulling, 1 pushing) I'm now using the JR Z9000T Metal gear digital servo. Worth every bit of the $114 i paid for it.
