Well, with a great battery you can go with a 1515/1Y 2200Kv, 1515/1.5D 2700Kv. Now if they fit go with 1521/1.5D 1900Kv or 1527/1D 2300Kv. Just get the best 30C lipos out there and go with 6S2P if possible. One question, why do you want to go 80MPH and still want 20MIN+ run time? You should go with one or the other.

Still fast. If you want 20min+ you will need lots of mAh from your batteries or wait to see if Castle will make a HV version of the Monster Max.

I haven't seen them go for over 20min. though. You can make your DST go 60 or 70mph, but you won't get 20min. If you are planning on going 40mph+, then yes you could get over 20min. with 6S. I got over 20min. with my 1/8 buggy with 6S and my speeds were around 40mph.

I would think those motors are a little overkill for the DST. Its a 1/10th scale truggy, so you'd be able to get away with a 1509/1Y or 2D on 4s or 5s.

speedy, the rustler and dst are geared differently and the dst is 4wd (more moving parts, more stress on the motor). You could probably get the dst to hit 60mph on 3s, but at the expense of heat and shortened run times.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

I just gave those example in case he wanted to go 80mph. Yes, you pointed a good motor. If I had that vehicle, I would go with the 1512/1.5Y 1850Kv with small 2200-2500mAh 6S lipos. It should be enough to go over 40mph and efficient enough to get over 20min run time.
