Yep or you are walking your dog along with your 10 month year old and then these dogs come running over as they owners don't even have fences

As someone who has a dog as a family pet and doesn't have a dog fence... Robert yes the person was a dick for not doing anything but if true you are VERY out of line.

That is a criminal offense and one that I personally would be ashamed of. I'm amazed you would admit to such cruelty. There is no such thing as a bad dog just a bad owner...

I personally wish a mod would delete this thread - It started about RC safety.

Not really it was almost 15 years ago and in a land far away where people take care of there own. If it was out of line I would have been arrested. Anyway it's old hat. Didn't mean to stir the pot.

I'll stir the pot some more. It is legal to shoot dogs that are harming livestock even here in california. But I'm sure Mail dosen't count as livestock

Hopefully Robert does not live near him! I can just see him on the roof with a sniper rifle, waiting...

Man I have been playing way too much GTA4! Now it is time to get back to sniping grandmas! I usually pick a pedestrian type on the game and see how many I can take out before the police chopper guns me down.

I love animals, but will be one of the first to say that if any domestic animal has killed and has the taste of blood its time for them to be put down. With the exception of a cat killing mice, birds, and such. But if a dog is killing chickens, who's to say that dog wouldnt attack a small child making funny noises? The dog needs to be put down when this happens. I'm from the country as well and things are different out there, if the owner wont take responsibility then you take care of it yourself! As far as the original start of this thread, I'd def be upset if a dog destroyed one of my lipos, but I wouldnt do anything more than talk to the owner about it, he thought it was a toy and no blood was shed, but I'd hope for the owner to cough up some dough for the battery, if you weren't given a replacement.

I have to agree with this and what some others have said. It's the owners that need training. Dogs are easy to train. People are a lot more stubborn and stupid. Attacking the dogs isn't a good idea, it can make them quite aggressive to people on the other side of the fence.

As someone who has owned livestock and has an uncle with quite a bit invested in exotic deer I can offer this information.

In Texas, under state law, your livestock be it whatever is a commodity and part of your livelihood. If uncontrolled animals are attacking and killing your livestock, you have a legal right to shoot/kill the animal to protect yours. Be it a domestic dog or wild animals, you have the legal right to protect your livestock. If people won't take care of their animals, you are left with very limited options, especially when living in rural areas where animal control authorities are mostly nonexistent.

I want to add that I am an animal lover and in no way condone mistreatment or abuse of animals in anyway. I also hunt but only for animals I will use as food, I do not support killing just for sport. You have to think about these things logically and not purely emotionally when handling situations like these. Obviously when in the city you first need to contact the owner then if that deosn't work turn it over to authorities.
