Awesome!! Looking real good..

Question, that’s not a RC monster battery try is it? do you know what your total height is from the chassis to the top of the lipo?, I'm just curious to see how much room you have vrs my 808, my total height is 44.38mm (battery tray and 5s 3700mAH lipo.

Great build, now lets see it get dirty!..

Have a great one..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

No, its not a RCM Tray, its a RC Product Design Tray. Sorry, i'll have to measure it later on but the tray is thick, thinking of maybe trying to cut it down somehow so the battery can sit lower to the chassis. The battery makes the body sit up a little bit. I weighed the buggy with lipo and everything on and it is 3.7kg but will work on that later

Back to work tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to use it at the track in 3 days unless I got picked for Jury Duty which probably will happen

Well finally got to give it a test at my local track.
Ran for 24 minutes until the Motor got up to 155F and shut it off. Battery was 95F and the ESC was 110F. Fan still works on the MMM and had to problems with it at all. After it cooled down went out for another 5 minutes on the same battery but the battery holder (gorilla) snapped which sent my lipo flying & flipping accross the ground and ending my day Heard of alot of guys having trouble with the straps snapping but would of thought it would of last longer than 29 minutes.

Here is a shot of the esc settings I had it at. Just measured the battery voltage and battery still had 19.12V left (3.824V per cell)

The Neu motor did get up to 162F at one stage and I was reading in the FAQ section that generally a hot motor and cool RX/ESC usually means it is undergeared. I am running a 14T/46T which makes it geared for 44mph and I really don't need any faster for the track, I was flat out getting up to top speed as it was. Might have to work out how to get some air flow to the motor, I don't really have room to put a fan on the motor.

Yeah, have to try and work it out after night shift. Might even check around at work since I work at a Alumina Plant

Worked out what I am going to try out with the battery strap. It snapped on the small end with the buckle so I am going to
A) Put strong velcro on the bottom of the battery tray and on the battery
B) Use canvas on the short side with the buckle
Will try that out and see how it goes

So does that mean to your going up to a 17T pinion or going down to 10T?. I'm asking because I’ve got the 1512 2d s (almost the same motor) I haven’t installed yet. I'm hoping to learn from you experiences.

What oil weight did you use for your center diff??. I used 30K

Thanks for your time DB..

Have a great Friday / Weekend..

Shaun.

The whole chassis setup is completly standard, shock oil/diff oil/shock springs/ride height etc. Just put all the electrics in, test at track and go from there. The standard diff weights in the 8ight are Front - 3000 Centre - 5000 Rear - 2000. Not sure what to do about the gearing yet, will run another battery through it and then try and decide what to do

Just finished making the new battery strap/hold down. I got heavy duty velcro from my garage from when I use to work at a Car Entertainment Installation shop. I used canvas (2 layer) on the buckle side of the strap and made in longer than the standard Gorilla strap since I am running a tall/large battery

Got to have more fun with it today in my backyard and in my street. Just jumping around on a little jump and flying around the backyard then going out the front and doing some speed runs. Ran for about 30 minutes (battery still had power) but was starting to get really cold and dark. Motor temp was 110F and ESC 90F Battery 85F with same gearing as the track
