The tires are heavy, but the hvmaxx never had issues shifting the truck, so it really is down to the poor quality & efficiency of that hobbyshitty motor. I checked it with my IR temp gun and 358*f was the highest temp- put it in *C mode too and it was about 180*C; spit boiled instantly on contact. Only the esc would have thermalled though, not the motor, since there are no temperature sensors in the motor like there are with the hvmaxx- need some kind of warning alarm or buzzer if the temp rises above a certain point like 160*f or so.

Im sure the medusa will be fine though, just have to wait for them to be released; in the mean time I bough one of the Hacker C50 9XL clones from 'bid product', so we'll see how that does when it gets here....
