wierd. it ran the entire lipo no problem afterwards.
i wonder why this happened.

My MMM v2 acted the same way before it died. You had to disconnect and reconnect the battery a few times before it powered the rx. Then 3-4 minutes into the third pack it just shut down and have been dead since. It still works with the castle link but it just wont power up the rx or run the motor

Just outta curiosity, have you tried running a BEC or battery pack for the RX?

I have a question...
I am due to receive my second v2 today. First one puffed the internal BEC( I am assuming)
With all this talk about the Internal BEC, CCBECs, etc..
Is there any safety in just adding an external BEC and bypassing the internal? I REALLY don;t want to fry another MMM as I would like to tkae my revo on vaca and actually enjoy it for a change, instead of hearing my wife gripe.. "All that money you dump on that, and it just sits there!"

OK OK!
I'll answer the man!
Ummm, I guess, maybe? (Actually, it really depends -- adding another BEC reduces the stress on the MMM, but also adds more to the system that can fail - additional electronics. So my answer is still "maybe". )

Next question... Really...
Is .. WTF is going on? Now that these are starting to hit the masses in larger numbers, the failure rates are really starting to grow.
Rumors are around that Bernie said something about the TEST group of the new unit was much smaller than they have done on any other product...
Now.. I will say that this stuff isn't a matter of life and death.. thank god.
But it is highly highly irritating to have hundreds, if not thousands of dollars into these toys, and our parade is being rain upon...

Ummm, we ran a check yesterday, and our failure rate on the V2 is pretty normal for a new product. In fact, the Mamba Max had almost double the failure rate in early runs as the MMM.
This is for two reasons -- first, people are using setups that aren't right -- and are damaging motors and ESCs because they don't know yet what combos actually work right (we have seen many of these at tech support here.) Second reason is that there are higher failure rates on products early from just manufacturing defects -- we tend to have a few more failures early on 'cause we don't yet know what to look for when looking for common defects (every product has something...)
Also, please note we have built ALREADY six times more V2 MMM than V1 MMM.... (almost 3000 have shipped already) So there is going to be a LOT more reports of issues, just from the sheer numbers.

keep up the good work guys , although its a bummer , once the issues are worked out i trust we will all get many hours of enjoyment out of our rc's
any chance that the castle motors will be available sooner then expected?

Did you get the 6.5mm bullets in this week? I was wondering if you'd had a chance to get that parcel out to me?
