Well the issue was a bad solder connection at one of the CC bullet connectors. I just ended up taking them out and direct soldering the connection between the motor and the ESC leads and the problem was solved. I am a bit surprised that it ran as well as it did for a short time and then the problem showed up from a bad solder joint.

BTW, my truck wheelies so hard I can flip it over backwards with just a stab of the go trigger.
