Kyosho ST upgrade to STRR and Conversion

Gee, I took a quick look at my ST-RR and this is what I got (measurement from eyelet to eyelet):

Front = 118mm
Rear = 122mm

Looks like they did send me the wrong ones. I have the Jammin 16mm big bores already on the back and they are about the same size. Wasn't sure about the Kyosho big bores. I'll get a hold of them. Thanks for the help. What springs do you use on yours?

Gee, my ST-RR originally came with the green springs (soft) but these were way to soft and I changed to the blue springs (hard) and they work out much better. Keep in mind that Kyosho makes Big Bores for both there truggy and buggy and they use different lengths (at least in the front).

I run either a os/28/ modded picco 28/modded 528XR/ 928 and some others if need be, im a motor whore..

I was reading your thread on the 1/8 diffs last and checked out your vidoes. You get those suckers hauling... very impressive. I had the axial .28 in this before. It doesn't compare to yours but it was a lot of fun. It was an easy one to run not as frustrating as some. I still got a gallon and a half left I need to burn. Going to put the .28 in the Losi eight I just got. Try and use up the fuel before the weather turns up here. Thanks again for the pics.

Should be cool man, and the losi clutches will be fine on your 8ight. I actually really like losi's 4 shoe clutch that they use now.

You know what tougher then converting a Nitro truggy to electric? Unconverting it. Man that was a chore getting all the nitro gear gathered back up and reinstalled. Found out also I need a STRR servo tray. They are longer and the brackets are located in different spots in the chassis. I made some makeshift brackets for the old tray so I didn't have to drill holes in the chassis. I'm gonna run it with the axial .28 for a while longer. Still got fuel to burn and theres something to say for having the ability to disturb everyone in the neighborhood with one fail swoop or maybe 6 swoops.

I have some universial shafts coming in the mail and one last part to get installed correctly and I almost have a STRR. I need some help though with the suspension pivot block that hold the top front arms in place. I installed it the way the exploded view shows to with the oblonged O part on hte inside of the pivot block but it doesn't hold in there. Just comes out. I tried with the O on the outside and it doesn't seem right either. What holds them in? Do I have something backwards?







I've read before that these were confusing and now I agree. Do I need additional parts or more common sense?

Gee, the oblonged "O" (#65 on diagram 16 on page 15 of the manual) has to be installed between the forward part of the upper A arm and the shock tower(it will be sandwiched in there). Then you insert part #275 (3 x 47mm shaft) and keep them in place by a pair of 2.5mm E-clip.

On your third picture, that Oblong plastic was installed incorrectly.

I can see where you got confused. You were looking at diagram 15 on page 15 .
