My slayer balances well with the battery on one side and the motor and servo on the other, Placing the esc on the motor side would help too. I prefer single battery setups, easier charging and balancing, simpler wiring too. I do have a few dual pack setups, they balance well too, but addl wire length is not desireable IMO.
