I've never ran on tarmac, but I do run on asphalt. I don't know if that compares or not. I've used Ofna treaded premounts (as shown in my prof pic), hotlaps autocross premounts, and panther slicks, all of which are a different diameter. The panther slicks are probably the lightest tires you can buy, and I can definately recommend them, but i am thinking of going with the clay compound w/ molded foam instead of the soft compound that I have now w/ the included foams - a little soft imo. Panther tires are about 4 1/4" in diameter.

The ofna tread tires are very low profile, and don't have regular foams, but sort of thin foam belts. They are about 4" in diamter, and are a pretty hard compound and perform remarkably well in general, though not so much over bumps.

The autocross tires are pretty much for bashing as they are pretty heavy and not low profile - about 4.5" in diameter.
