Would a 1506 work in a crt.5?

Just wondering if these would work on 2 and 3s...not sure of the size of the motor, more of a general question.

Was thinking of this motor.....http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...15061yf&cat=20 with a mm esc.

Looks like a decent 2-3s motor. You may have issues gearing it low enough as it will be a high rpm motor setup.

Will you run buggy or truck tires.

Are you running the normal chassis or an extended one?

When I was first running my crt.5 with regular chassis and smaller buggy size tires I had no problems with 2S and 3S on a smaller motor like a Hacker 8L.

As soon as I went to truck sized 1/10 tires I started to have heat problems - even with gearing changes. They put a heck of a lot more load on the whole drivetrain.

Also - when I went to the extended chassis I started pulling more power as well.

I found a 1509 would handle the load with minimal heat problems. Personnally I don't think a 1506 would handle the load required by the 1/10 truck tires.

We've used a 1506 in a CRT .5 and the Hot Bodies 10. It's a great motor, plenty of power. I can't remember what wind 1506 we were running, (maybe that 5500 one) but we ran the LS10 on 2s and 3s, motor never got hot at all. 2s was perfect track speed and 3s was just a blast to run.

I recently got a HB GT10 myself, and I have to say that even with the much larger tires the truck is just a little lighter and much less taxing on the motor.

Feel free to give the 1506 a try but I would shoot for a 1509. Maybe a 2D @ 3300kv or a 2.5D @ 2700kv for 3S.

Give the 50mm Medusas a try, great bang for your buck! 4800kv is a good 2s motor, 3300 good for 3s and most likely would gear up well to run 2s at reasonable speeds. Mine runs great, never been above 125* even with bigger truck tires

Also a great idea. I run a 50mm 2200kv in my Losi 8ight on 4s and it works great, so the CRT .5 should be easy on it.

I have a 50 series Medusa for it...this truck will be my daughter's soon when I buy a used crt.5 roller... I am looking for a motor for my truck

I run the 36-50-3300 Medusa in my LS10 on 3s. Works great in it. I use the center differential and can gear it up pretty high before I have to start worring about heat. The NEU would be able to go even higher without heat issues. But as said above the medusa is a good bang for the buck.
