That battery box is a V1 - our box is a one piece design for months now - total weight is just over 2oz (no more seperate spacer, so less plastic and lower Cg). Dan's "ultimate" boxes are nice, but they position the battery too far off center IMO and weigh 3-4x as much as the RC-Monster tray. :)

Does the new tray fit ok in an MBX-6?

The chassis is much more narrow than the MBX-5.

I actually like the flexibility of mounting your tray as opposed to Dans.

What I really need is more clearance. Getting the battery closer to the chassis.

The part I don't like about Dans tray is the fact that you loose all you available real estate on that side of the buggy. I need somewhere to put my receiver.

I would order your tray if I knew it would work.

The "standard" tray accomodates 1.25" of space between the spur gear and the mud guard - enough for anything I have seen, though I have not seen the mbx6 yet. We have the custom tray option if you need different dimensions. :)

Just for reference about Mikes battery tray.

I'm using an RCM battery tray that was custom made to fit the Zippy-H size lipos. These lipos are big.

I still managed to make it fit on my MBX6. You just need to find your own way to make the trays fit. I found it the biggest obsticle in my conversion and I ended up just drilling 3 holes in the battery tray and using the stock chassis holes to hold it on. Believe it or not, but the big Zippy 4S lipo fits under the body without any rubbing/abrasion.

I just installed an aluminum front upper hingepin brace from M2C Racing.

It is a perfect fit. Awesome!!

Great looking buggy macr0w! Very nice conversion. Will the tower bolt onto an mbx5r? I love the CF look and would like to add them if they fit.

I don't think so. At least it won't fit on my old Prospec.

The diffs are smaller and the screws are closer together.

We were supposed to race at The Farm2 today but it looks like we're rained out.

Sunday maybe if the track dries out enough.

We got to run our very own electric 1/8th buggy class this past weekend at The Farm2.

That is an awesome track.

The buggy was running great. I just wasn't driving it that good.

I did good in the qualifiers. I think I was 4th, 3rd and 2nd in three qualifiers out of 8 buggies. That put me in 4th for the main but I ran a terrible race and crashed alot and finished 6th.

Oh well, better luck next time.

I put a 2.8 rear swaybar on and also put on 2mm offset hubs.

I changed my shock fluid to 400 in front and 350 in the rear.

I like it. I just need some tires that will hook up.

I bought a set of AKA Cityblock and a set of AKA I-Beams in what is supposedly the soft compound. The rubber is soft but the foams are not.

I was running the blocks on the front and the beams on the rear.

I ended up going back to my trusty old M3 bowties.

have you tried m2 bow ties? I ran them on dirt oval last sunday, incredible grip! but killed the tire in one day, but incredible grip!
