Questions for you Blizzard owners:

Seems silly, but how are you guys keeping the cab part of the body attached to the rest of the body? I put extra strength Velcro on both sides and even the front, and it still won't stay on. It's driving me nuts. The stock Velcro just wasn't strong enough. This new Velcro's adhesive won't stick well enough to the lexan.

Are you super-gluing or shoe-gooing or something?

Also, are the bearings on eBay really worth the $22 or is there another source you're aware of?

I have had good luck with the stock velcro.

The bearings made a huge difference on mine.

I ended up CA gluing the velcro to the lexan and it appears to be holding now. I'll have to splurge for the bearing set for Christmas.

Do you find yourself getting a ton of snow in the truck still or have you done additional mods to keep the snow out?

I haven't had a problem with snow sticking in the tracks. Maybe your snow is different then what we have here.

Sorry, I was referring to snow getting in the actual vehicle, like under the body where all the electronics are. It doesn't stick to the tracks.

From what I can see, the "Snowtraxx" is actually a Blizzard with a different body.

The Blizzard is hard to find in Utah. The only shop that carries them is Hobby Habbit in Orem. That's where I picked up mine. If you tell them you're a crawler, they'll give you a discount.

Mine gets alittle wet but not to bad. Maybe I haven't run it enough at one time to fill it with snow

I need some advice on what TX to use for a Blizzard with a plow.
I have no experience on anything else than 2 channel radios.
The plow can be tilted and lifted/lowered so I guess I need a four channel radio.

But from what I understand most stick radios "spring back to center position" when letting go of the stick.

How can I tilt my blade and the servo keeps it position without me having to constantly force a stick in a certain position ?

And also I want to have throttle on the left stick and steering on the right, should I go for a mode 1 or mode 2 radio ?

Would be very greatful for any hints to get a working four channel setup.

You might be able to use a budget 4 channel stick radio from a helicopter. Typically the left stick doesn't have a spring for vertical movement.

You'd obviously need to use a different stick for throttle though if you're using that one for the blade.

The Van version was called "HeavyMetal" (tribute to the van gods of the 70's)and is vary rare. Goes for over $400 on E-Bay in good condition. The older ones used two 370 motors(one for each track) w/ twin ESC's and now they use one 540/550 and dual brakes. You can also do a few mods to the brakes and there are rubber covers for the tracks so they get traction on hard surfaces. One thing I've learned from other forums is if you spray Rain-X on the tracks, boggy wheels and body it doesn't get loaded with snow at all. I have been watching these for a while now and by Febuary I'll have one. A cheap brushless from HobbyKing should work nice.
