I’ve got nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for Lic / James, we get together usually once a month and always have a blast.. James would give the shirt off his back for a friend, he’s extremely intelligent individual and all around GREAT guy!.. I’m just having a BAD day and lashed out at James for it!..

I’m sorry and yes I’ll see in few weeks James and buy a drink!..

And JJ, I can easily outdrink Shaun, and possibly you too (not really sure about that, but I am up for the challange). Then I could easily throw up for 4-6 hrs straight, so beat that!!!! I do not have the desire to "over-do" it like I used to, but I still enjoy the stupidity that comes with a good bunch of drunks!

Now that was funny. I near pissed my pants when I read that Linc. You crack me up. At least if we do upset one another we can laugh about it later and usually before it becomes a real issue. I am sure that the Mods are always saying to themselves here they go again. Plus I always get a kick out of how we hijack these threads and change the whole agenda. Oh well, what can we do? A Reverse Polarity Situation?

Did you know Deans Connectors are actually marked?



I highlighted the markings with a sharpy for this picture.

I bought a RC Boat from Ebay one time. It has a pair of Titans in it and the EVX ESC. Just to try it out, I got a pair of my 5000mah Lipos that I had been using with Monster Trucks.

I'm not sure if the ESC was turned on or not, but there was a HUGE spark when I plugged it up.

The Wires got VERY hot and one of my Lipos let go. All of this happened in a few milliseconds. I didn't have time to unplug it before this happened even though my hands were still on the plugs.

This took out the ESC and one of my Lipos.

After some checking, I figured out the guy I got it from had "upgraded" to Deans. He installed them reverse polarity on the ESC, AND on his batteries. So it worked for him.

He would not make good on it. I filed a dispute with paypal about it, thinking I would show them my "proof".

The guy left me negative feedback accusing me of lieing about the entire thing. Then Paypal ruled in his favor and closed the dispute without even contacting me for more information.

If you get something used, it pays to double check everything.

this is kinda like me pulling a dumbass move when i first got started i was building my LS10 and i bought a 9L off of linc, first run its get so hot you could cook off of it and finally we figured out i put long motor screws in it all the way to the winding and was shorting it out, i was lucky to not puff my crapamps 3s and fry my mm, everyone learns SOMETHING the hardway i think it wasnt anything you did. atleast they were just cheap protek packs for his sake.

I do admire shaun's take on it and i would stand buy that whenever nessicary but i dont think this is one of those incidents, say if one of my quads i sold frame cracked in a typical area first time the person rides it im gonna go outta my way to get that fixed and make sure there is anything else wrong. In that kind of situation id definetly feel responsible (mostly because i give my bike HELL)

I have seen all kinds of horrible wiring and other abortions of nature. I buy alot of stuff used (I am cheap) and always give everything a thorough once over before I use it. I do buy alot of used lipos off RcGroups (plane guys take good care of their stuff) and never buy without pics.
