To be honest, the towers leave something to be desired (adjustment mostly) but the stock shocks are actually great shocks. Pretty much just need aluminum shock ends. They seem to be a problem.

As far as suspension and drivetrain, I know of a ton of things you can do to make it handle better than most newer truggies. I've done most of em to mine and it really helps. 8mm axles, buggy upper arms, 22* front hubs, Mugen tie rods, etc. Let me know if you want any more info on them.
