i couldn't believe it. but my neu 1515 1y has the power to break itself. im running a 5s zippy 5000 on my crt and i had badlands on it in the grass and gave it full trigger off the line and the shaft on the motor actually snapped right after the bearing. i cant that was the weak link in my drivetrain. thankfully its still under warranty but i think its time for mikes slipperential when the funds allow me to buy it. till then i will definatly be setting my punch control on my mamba and probally reducing the brake power as well. now i see why something like the slipperential is worth it especially if it saves u a motor., sorry no pics i was in a hurry to send it to neu for repair, does anyone know how long they take to replace or repair?
My first guess would have been a bind somewhere in the drive line but I'm guessing it rolled well when you put it on the ground for testing. How was the mesh between the pinion and spur?

A bind was my first guess but it rolled as freely as can be, and the shaft came pre notched so im not really sure. i honestly think it was the fact it was a 10lb truggy in the grass with high grip tires, and being too rough on it, perhaps i weakened the shaft from braking to hard and then by goosing the trigger just twisted the weak spot on the shaft. but its good to hear it shouldnt take longer than a few weeks to get back, i will be re-gearing it though i changed to a 46t spur from a 62 and had not changed the diff ratios yet, the crt was geared for like 63mph, wasnt getting hot but im sure it was putting alot more strain on the drivetrain. but my ring and pinion sets should be here monday so ill have plenty of time to go over the truggy and have it good and ready when the motor comes back. was also what kind of wear does the slipperential sustain?
how often to u have to replace the slipper pads? and how much maintenance is this setup? really think it would be a great thing to have
Rootar was run a slipperential at a race about a week ago and had it set WAY loose, you could ask him how the pads look. My guess is they would last a long time.
yea that the only thing that concerns me, dont want to be replacing them too often but i will run it more for protection than but some for traction control.
