I know what screws you mean though, I use the same ones on my diff outputs to hold the sliders in place.
On the fitment issue, I seem top recall that being normal- the V3 cases are a little bigger than stock revo diffs I think so you tend to have to flex the top plate up a little, though some people said you had to do that anyway with just normal diffs since the G2R chassis is a bit fiddly to fit to the revo front and rear ends. So long as it goes together okay with no big gaps, you should be fine... (famous last words).
