C rating doesn't matter too much for a full scale car, imagine a wild drive that last only two minutes for 30C discharge and then you have too pull your loved EP car home?

Well of course, but efficiency man, efficiency! You need the voltage to stay nominal, smaller lighter motor can be used, smaller lighter battery can be used (if a hybrid setup is used), you get to a point where battery pack cooling/heating is not important (shedding weight again) and overall well -to -wheels efficiency is higher with higher performance cells. trust me, C rating matters.
