The losi heatsink has as split from front to rear, and is bolted together to close that split and clamp around the motor. Doesn't need to stretch much more to fit a 42mm motor.
The guy using one on his buggy said the motor did run cooler with it, but I've also wondered how affective is a heatsink over a finned motor (mainly thinking of the tekno motor mounts)
