Guys,
PLEASE DO NOT BUY IB 4200s - All sellers are returning them to Intellect because of a shorting problem. The cell should be updated by March. The IB 4200 supposedly has better voltage than the GP4300s and will be cheaper. I would definately go with the 4200 over the 4300 - just a matter of how patient you are... I'm still not seeing why people want the 4200s, races are 5 minutes and people have plenty of mah to spare... The discharge curve is the same regardless of what people are saying... As for bashing, it is much more affordable to buy two packs of IB 3600s - they have the same voltages as the 3800 and 4200s, and are selling at Boom Boom Batteries for only $36.99 per assembled pack... Just my $.02 - I like to keep my customers aware of whats going on as I hate seeing people buy something thats not worth their money. Hope I don't get killed for this!

thanks for the info and i dont think that you are going to be killed because of it i ussually dont by new cells as soon as they come out because of problems that may occurr in the first few months of production(and i can ussually get tham cheaper after they have been out for a few months)

well i talked to steve (guy from offshoreelectrics.com) and he said only some of them come in that are bad and he will check them before he ships them and if i do get a bad one he will replace it for free. the only reason i didnt get them from mike was i need them ASAP and i dont think he has them in stock. also, once i get my 8xl in i will tell yall how they perform. hope i dont rip my diffs apart like R00ST did...

No need to apologies buddy!

I hear you, glad he takes it this sportive.

But it can ruin a controller, if you have got a loose contact in the batteries though!!

I believe the problem doesn't become apparent immediately. It can happen on the first cycle or the 10th, which is why we are really worried about selling them... We don't want a guy to come back a month later and say "hey, my battery shorted..."

i think he said there was a way to tell which ones are bad by testing them. i think the said the ones that show NO voltage are the bad ones although it might be the other way around.

According to a few guys, the problem doesn't appear until a few charges in to it... They have an internal short and are ruined... Doesn't happen to every cell, just too high a percent for them to be sold with confidence.
