Front wheels ballooning on a vehicle is caused by the center diff sending most of the power to the front- thick fluid required in the CD.

The outside wheel ballooning when turning a corner is due to the fluid in the diffs being too thin, thicker fluid also required.

Taping the inside of the tires will help to reduce ballooning, as will using a thicker tyre.

I just bought a set of Proline Dirt Hawgs from another member here. They are the 40 series size. I'll report back once I receive them and try them out on my ERBE (I never use that acronym, but I just like messing with metallover!).

I've heard great things about the badlands on lpr rulux rims, i might order those. I still enjoy the stock talons though. Yeah, definatley report back on those dirt hawgs, I haven't heard many things about them.

Ok, I just got done gluing the badlands onto the rulux rims and fixing a torn foam insert . Wow these tires have great traction and they're great on my e-revo. Along with some other new parts, here are some new pictures of it:

What do you reckon is weight difference between the Rulux/Badlands setup and the stock Victory/Ananconda wheels?

Hmmm I'm not exactly sure. I'd say (just guessing) that they weigh about 1/2 - 3/4 of what the stock talons weigh.

The "Victory and Anaconda's" are Rustler sized wheels ansd tires
I beleive you mean the "Gemeni's and Talons" ?

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Yes you're right, I do mean Gemini/Talon. I swear I get that wheel/tire combo mixed up so often it's not even funny any more. But to my defence, I did go through several Victory/Anaconda sets during my FLM Rustler period, I guess thats maybe why it sticks to my memory.

That is a significant difference. And I bet they balloon a lot less as well?

Well, it depends. Take a look at page 2 of this thread and you'll see that the tire itself isn't the only factor in balooning. Stretching the rulux rims on the Badlands tightens up the side wall, especially if you glue it behind the inner bead of the rim. They do baloon a little less than the talons though .
