i dont see any setscrews on the rear plate, so does that mean i can just pull the rear plate off? I thought that'd be kinda weird since it would be stuck in place by the motor wires. here is the motor from lincpimp's photobucket. oh, and I cant tap the shaft, because it de-bonded from the magnets lol. thats why I need to open this up!
My fault, didn't know exactly which style you had. With those, I usually heat up the rear of the can a little to soften the glue and tap the shaft to pop the rear cap out. The front end usually has ridges and is a bit more secure and you can easily mess up the rotor.
Edit: I didn't read all of it. If you have a vice, use it to secure the end can and use a adjustable plier to pull the can off. If that doesn't work, see if you can get the shaft in he motor just enough to offset it a little and that will allow you to tap the rear cap off.
