MMP tradeins - 11.19.2009, 11:21 AM

I have a couple of questions. 1. Is there an official CC trade in program to acquire a MMP? I have an MM in excellent shape I could part with.(only mods are fan on heatsink and vent holes in case) 2. Will the CC programming software run on Ubuntu under Wine? Thanks, Don

That sucks. I spoke to Jenny @ Castle and asked her if there was some kind of trade in program and she said no. This was about a week before they shipped them out.

NOTE - if you ask for an upgrade (which we are now allowing... ) you will be put on the bottom of the order list -- there is no priority for upgrades vrs. new orders -- so they will go out in a "first come, first served" order. Because the MOSFETs in the MMPro are still in short supply, we can't build enough of them to meet demand -- so it might be a while before you will get your MMPro on an upgrade...

The MMPro are in short supply eh? I should put a couple up for sale for 1 meelion dollars each (said in my best Dr. Evil voice). Hey, if people are dumb enough to pay upwards of a thousand dollars for a Wii, think what they will pay for a rare MMPro.

2. What's Ubuntu? I like wine.

Seriously, it will probably work OK. We haven't tested it though. The Castle Link uses a HID device driver, so it works the same way a mouse or keyboard would work.

You have to add a note to the form asking for upgrade to MMPro- $75 I believe.

Is the upgrade option still available for the MMPro?

I wonder what the turn around time is looking like now?

I believe so, and probably at least a few weeks, more likely a month- I bet once the new factory is up and running after the move that they ( castle ) will be able to crank out a much higher volume of escs of all flavours.
