yes and no... it sounds like a registry prob... you can try an xp repair if you have the cd.. just put it in the drive and boot off of it... if it passes post its not going to be a hardware prob.(cpu fan)... it should be a simple fix if you have the cd... if not pm me you email and i can send you the necessary files to create the iso boot cd.
