For the love of god, put cooling plates on the Phoenix ICE and ICE HV series and SELL IT! I don't understand what the holdup is, can't be too tough to make it a marine ESC. There are people running regular ICE ESCs in boats (some without any cooling at all, just the heatsinks in a sealed up hull). PLEASE give us the Hydra ICE!

V5 Monster - 02.07.2010, 07:57 PM

Where can the V5 monster be purchased. I am looking for a V5 2200 combo. All that I have looked it, claim they come with the V3. Thank you.

Yeah, pretty much everything we have made in the last eight months or so has been a V4. The V5 is shipping now. The only real differences is some very minor changes in V4, and V5 has a better switching BEC (more amperage.)

So, nothing really to get excited about. Just some minor tweaks.

Hmm, funny, we just approved the cooling extrusion on Thursday for the Hydra ICE. Coming real soon. Probably less than four weeks away.

VERY good to hear! Are they going to be regular cooling plates or some kind of water block like you find in a water cooled computer? As long as you can keep the resistace low enough the water block would offer superior cooling capacity. At any rate, I've got 3 boats right now...and only 1 good ESC

We took the heat sink fins off the cooling extrusion, and replaced them with channels for cooling tubes. The cooling extrusion bonds to the bus bars and the FET packages -- it is very effective at cooling the circuit board.

I'm out of the office until Tuesday -- I'll try to remember to post up some pics when I get back.
