Seems kinda more money, hassle & wiring than is needed. Just swap out the stock fan for an aftermarket 25mm item, and put an rx plug on the leads = permanently on fan that will lower MMM operating temps throughout the whole run, rather than kick in once its already starting to overheat...

Fair comment Neil. I knew of that method but the idea of being in control (and the extra gadgetry) seemed apealling to me. The mers is quite a bit extra wiring and hassle.

btw are they still making red dwarf? I haven't seen it in years.
