It could be a timing thing - wondering if the ESC can cope with that many pulses at full voltage with a 4 pole motor...

Suspect at flat out that the timing is going up the wazzoo causing the motor to heat up...

Does it exhibit the same behavoir when not under load i.e. on the bench?

I've run with this setup for a while now and it just started having this cutting-back problem this past weekend. I do have the program box for the ESC and can try changing the timing and punch to see if that will do anything. I haven't tested it on the bench. BL motors tend to overheat when not driving a load, so I don't want to risk that (especially with Medusa gone).

The ESC and motor have always run cool...max of 120F on either even on a relatively hot day (80F) on a big track. Don't know what changed.

Maybe something broke internally as the track is BIG jumps and I tried singling a big triple a couple of times this last track visit and didn't make it. I didn't tumble and crash, but I landed on all 4 wheels on the rise of the last jump. But the track has some big rough spots too so the suspension is pretty soft and I bottom on the big jumps, so maybe the impact finally made something give?

Any other ideas on what I can investigate? Thanks for the help.

my esc kinda does something similiar after a huge jump. it seems to lose it's current settings and i have to go back and re-calibrate it.
after i got some 1/2 inch foam tape under it, it stopped doing it. it think the impact might have been jarring the unit into some kind of default.
