Hi, I'm building up a Kyosho MP-6 buggy. I have on hand a Schulze 18.61K, motor mount, battery tray, 6S A123 pack and a Monster Mike heat sink to fit a "L" type motor. I was looking at a Feigao 14L for power.(KV 1755,resistance .0234 ohm) I know there are much better motors out there-money is tight. I was hoping to keep the heat down with a lower KV and a higher voltage. Thoughts? Don

A better choice might be a Tekin 1550, 1700kv buggy motor. Much better quality that the Feigao. Feigao motors run hotter anyway due to the not so great quality so, IMO save for the better motor...you will be happy you did in the end.

running a lower kv motor on a 5 or 6s set up will help keeps temps down provided that the gearing is correct

OK-how about a Medusa 36-60 1600KV? I presume Mike has them in stock-they're still listed on the site. Don

That would work as well. Having a good motor is worth waiting for if you have to. I run all castle motors in my mugens now due to the fact that they are good quality motors and their customer service is second to none.

In saying that, the Medusa is still a very good choice

Keep in mind you will have to deal with Neu for any repairs or support on a Medusa, and it has yet to be seen how all that will work out. Although I wouldn't worry about it too much as Neu is a great company to deal with.

I 'd go for a medusa 1600kv, I bought one recently and liked it enough to buy another 1300kv for my other buggy. The price is very good for the quality and you'll be able to use your clamp/heatsink too.
