Slow Order - 06.18.2010, 05:44 PM

I just wanted to share my experience about my 2217 that i ordered about 4 months ago. Although the 2217 is built by Neu and not Castle, since you order through Castle i figured this would be the appropriate forum for this thread. Anyway, when i ordered this motor in Feb. my order confirmation said it would take 8 weeks to build so after 9 weeks i called the sales department to check the status of the motor and was somewhat disapointed yet happy to hear that the motor was only a couple more weeks before i recieved it and would get an email stating that the motor was on its way. So i wait to hear something back via email and never get an email, so a few days ago i called again to see what was going on and was suprised to hear that the motor was being held up because they didnt have any rotors for it. They then told me that they would send me an email to tell me an eta of when to expect the motor and nothing so far; what the hay? Will i ever get my motor, what next; their out of plutonium? Should i cancel and just settle for a 2215 from somewhere else since i cant get a 2217 from anywhere. Or could i even get a refund after this long if i wanted to? I would hate to have to cancel the order because i like sending money in Castles direction but Neu has led me to think about canceling the order. I guess i might give it another week or 2 before i cancel. I am not happy about this at all. Scratching my head right now.

I'd ask if they had a 2230 rotor available instead.

How would that help? Sure i would take a 2230 if it were for the same price. Of course nothing longer than a 2220 will fit in the rampage, that is the one i bought from Ryu with the custom motormount.

You better be careful questioning cc, you might hurt everyone's feelings but cc's.

David, his question is legitimate and not whiny. Don't spread you whining to other threads too please. He actually ordered a product and has not received it, he is not complaining that he ordered the 2217 but he didn't get a 2230 because somehow other people did. See the difference?!

Yea, im not whining, just stating the facts. I really am just tired of waiting on my motor, i mean the 8 weeks that was first stated seemed kinda long to me to start with, but 16 weeks to build a motor seems flat nuts. Maybe even Patrick will see this and do something to sppeedd it up.

I had the same drama when i ordered my 1527. I ordered it through castle and it took about 3 months to get to me i think you need to wait until they do another run of that rotor. Besides you have waited this long what would be the point of asking for a refund now.

You have a good point there. This will be the 1st and last time i order a motor direct from Neu/CC. On big motors i will have to settle for either a 2215 or 30 in the future unless OSE or someone starts distributing the others.

I ordered my 2230 from Steven at OffShoreElectrics.com, got it in a week, AND with more reasonable price, still not cheap though. Not sure if this info helps.

the 2215 and 2230 have been their for years but any size in between is newly added items I personally NEVER seen a guy using. I even doubt if they've really built any of those. If possible better order only in-stock products unless you are one of hundreds of people holding same preorders to make sure you are not alone, like me now waiting for the new FMA PL8 charger.

Well, i have a do not exceed length for the truck, so if i could only choose between a 2215 or 30 it would have to be a 2215.

I'm still waiting after two months too for a 1409 and they don't even reply my mails. That's very annoying

Ok, talked to Neu directly today about my 2217 and i was told that they were out of certain rotor parts on ALL 22XX series motors. They cannot proceed with building those motors until they get those parts from the out of U.S. suppliers to send the parts. They have no idea when they will receive them; therefore they can't give an ETA when my motor will get here.

Sorry -- even though we act as Neu's distributor, we have little to do with Neu's production.

Remember, each of these motors are hand-built to order. They don't do high volume, and very few motors are available off-the-shelf from Neu.

I figured CC didnt have much to do with Neus production, that being the reason this isnt a flame CC thread. If only Neus customer service was as good as CC's then we would be in business. Like the batteries i ordered from them, waited a month, and called to find out that they were out of stock, never was contacted to tell me this.
