a lehner 1940/6 would be a good motor and the differance between the 20120 and the 12020 is that the 20120 is a micro car controller and has more tuning options.
how many cells are you going to be running???
welcome to the forums by the way

Welcome to the RCM forum!

Well, BL, especially in combination with Lipo, will be superior to nitro on the track.
4S (14.4V) would already be enough. Many run 5S, but it is said this is almost too much power.

If you really want to spend 300 on a motor, get a Lehner 1930 or 1940. But you will find plenty cheaper motors that still kill nitros.

A nice and inexpensive (well, let's say not that expensive) setup would be a Wanderer 8XL on 5S Lipo on a BK Warrior 9920. This combo should give you 35 - 40mph with ease.

As for Lipo in parallel: As much as you can afford! More P equals more mAh (capacity) equals longer runtime.

How long are the races on your track?
