What needs replacing?? - 06.26.2010, 11:30 AM

Hi guys,

I bought myself a RCM Slipperential via eBay (turned out it was from Bryan here). Now I got it but there is a big wobble in the output yokes (Bryan mentioned this in his ad). So I was just curious what I should replace:

I put together a small movie for you to check the play:

I'm guessing it are the two end cap plates that are worn out? I've read Mike made some hardend steel versions that should ''last forever''?

Thanks guys!

EDIT: Any other hints on what would need replacement while rebuilding, some gaskets and o-rings?

Its most likely the aluminum end caps Nard. They would wear faster than metal cups. sorry about not returning your email.

If its for bashing and weight isnt an issue, then use those. It's already pretty heavy. Use good grease in between the end caps and outdrives with either the alu. or steel end caps.

Yes the part that holds the outdrives wears out making the outdrives wobbles.
