Wanderer or Feigao -
02.22.2006, 10:55 AM
I finnaly sold my basic xl3100, to fund some more upgrading. My emaxx has all RPM stuff, MIP bones, Maximizer diff cups which puts it in the 12-13 lbs. range. I plan on going to either a Wanderer or Feigao 9 or 8 something with a strobe slipper. Which motor would be best running on 12-14 cells? I have several GP3300 packs now, but will buy 14 cell packs next time. Also, what pinion tooth would I need? I want to run in the 40-50mph range. i do not race but may. Have stock tires, and I will try to go convert to the single speed trans, depending on how much $ is left over. Also, I already have a Warrior 9920 controller. Future plans include G-Maxx single spped conversion w/ steel idler, G-mass G2 carbon chassis.
Thanks for the advice and education!

Wanderer 8xl or 9xl. They got better bearing's than the feigao's.
Gearing I don't know.

For 12-14 cells i would take a 7XL, a 9XL is nice, if you are planning on going to run 20 cells, and the 8XL is nice for about 18 cells.
Gear with sense, in about the 35-40 mph range and you'll be save.

Ok i'm so confused right now. In other topic's I read people suggesting the 8xl for 12-14 cell's, but not 18 cell's cause it run's to hot.

the 7XL can handle 18 cells, but runs a bit hot.
for these low amount of cells, the 7XL gets my vote.

Okay I can go with an 7XL. I do not plan on ever going higher than 16 cells. What gearing would be needed?

Also, my 9920 has the same conncetors that came on the Lehner xl3100. Not sure what size connecttors they are. I see the Wanderer has 5mm connectors. Any possiblity there are the same? Is the Wanderer 7XL in stock, and the Strboe slipper kit?

the wanderer has the 5.5mm connectors but the lehners have 3.5's. you will have to change them.

Mike:
I see that you are out of the Wanderer 7XL, Strobe slipper kit, and i hope you have 5mm connectors, (didn't see them). Any idea when??? Let me know. As soon as I find out what gearing to use, I will need pinions too.
Thanks
