Gas engines are more reliable and cheaper to run than nitros, but they didn't kill off 1/8th scale nitros even for bashing. I don't see how having an off the shelf BL system is going to really change that for a lot of people, when replacement bodies themselves tend to run $150 for 1/5th scale.

I know its been argued that they are tougher and don't need as much work, but someone still having to throw down $1500-2000 just for a basher buggy is quite a scary chunk of change all at once.
